I wouldn’t be surprised to see Christian Rivera performing at the Grammys one day. His silky smooth voice rates right up there with the best; his phrasing and tone are top notch, and he’s got that ‘sob’ in his voice and a high-octave falsetto that makes the ladies swoon. He is a DefCon Level 5 threat for any R&B crooners out there…guys, watch out! Your competition has arrived.
Christian Rivera was born in the South Bronx and soon moved to South Florida as an adolescent. He grew up listening to all types and styles of music including Salsa, Soul, Gospel, RnB, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical and Hip Hop. While in Florida he started performing for the youth in church and got good early exposure to the stage as a result. In the 6th grade, he started to play in a local Salsa group called “Tropical Sounds Orchestra” and later on in high school he developed a strong passion for songwriting and music production.
After High School Christian moved further south to West Palm Beach where he started working with a management team called the A.O.N Group and produced his freshman Album “Jusill Presents Street Poetry”. This led to an opportunity to create radio beds for radio personality Ciarra “The midday Goddess” of the Hip Hop and RnB Station X102.3. He later produced a Jazz-inspired record called “Life of an Angel” on the “DESEO” album for Sony Jazz Saxophonist artist Jerry D.
Christian re-located to various cities including New York and Atlanta in relentless pursuit of his musical passions, most recently he re-connected with producer David Abraham who agreed to executive-produce a new EP to be released in 2013. The first-fruits of this collaboration has yielded the release of “Silhouette Love” a romantic ballad written by Philadelphia songwriter Samuell, who also directed a compelling video that has been receiving raving reviews on YouTube.
Christian is currently hard at work completing his EP which promises to be an eclectic mix of modern rhythms, catchy lyrics and thoughtful messages. Stay tuned.
